Diabetes Camp - Where having Diabetes is 'the norm'

Camp Tanager offers more than just a regular camp experience.

Each year, one week of camp is dedicated to children with Diabetes. The Diabetes Camp offers children ages 7 - 14 the opportunity to experience camp like all other children while under the watchful eye of a team of professional nurses and doctors.

Campers are assigned cabins by age, and live, learn, and laugh during their one-week stay. In addition to the songs, games, and activities of camp, children with Diabetes also have the opportunity to learn important health related skills such as mixing insulin, self-injection, and the importance of good balanced nutrition. The dedicated 24-hour nursing and camp staff assigned to each cabin help create the fun, safe, and educational camp experience for all attending.
